The BringBackHope (BBH) NGO, in collaboration with the Fort Lauderdale Community Center (FLCC) in Ghana, is tirelessly working on multiple transformative projects aimed at uplifting women and girls. We are passionately dedicated to addressing the significant challenges they face in the workforce.
The Challenges Women Face
Despite making up nearly half of Ghana’s population, women struggle to attain leadership positions, with only 13% currently holding such roles. Additionally, they suffer from a glaring gender pay gap, earning an average of 23% less than their male counterparts. This disparity is even more pronounced for women residing in rural areas and those with lower levels of education.
Our Commitment
We shed light on these issues because we believe in the power of awareness to drive change. At BBH and FLCC, we are committed to creating opportunities and breaking down barriers for women and girls in Ghana. Our ongoing projects are designed to empower them, providing the tools and support they need to succeed.

By donating to BringBackHope, you are investing in programs that provide essential skills training, create job opportunities, and foster a supportive community environment. At BringBackHope-BBH, we are passionately committed to empowering women and girls in Ghana, shedding light on the significant challenges they face in the workforce. Despite making up nearly half of the population, women in Ghana struggle to attain leadership positions, with only 13% currently holding such roles. Moreover, they experience a glaring gender pay gap, earning an average of 23% less than their male counterparts. This disparity is even more pronounced for women in rural areas and those with lower levels of education.
To address these pressing issues, our dedicated NGO, BringBackHope-BBH, launched the Empowering Women And Girls (EWAG) program in Ghana. Over the past seven months, we have initiated a pilot project aimed at assisting women who aspire to become Mobile Money Agents and establish Provision Shops.
Our Impact So Far
To support their endeavors, BBH invested a total of $10,000. Here’s how we allocated these funds to make a tangible impact:
$3,000 to acquire and renovate a shop, equipping it with necessary tools and IPO software.
$2,000 for training, payroll, and licensing ($400 per participant).
$3,000 to acquire wallets for popular mobile networks like MTN, AirtelTigo, and Vodafone.
$2,000 to stock the shop with essential supplies.
The Heartwarming Stories
One of our shining success stories is Falstina. Under the relentless Accra sun, Falstina balanced a heavy bowl of goods on her head, selling everything from chilled water to vibrant fruits and vegetables while carrying her toddler on her back. Her husband, a skilled taxi driver, saw his business crumble with the rise of ride-hailing apps, pushing their family to the brink of poverty.
BringBackHope stepped in, offering her husband a driver’s position and purchasing a small wooden structure that became Falstina’s shop. Stocked with goods through generous donations, Falstina also learned mobile money services, turning her shop into a neighborhood “bank.” With essential business training from BringBackHope, she quickly grew into a savvy entrepreneur, even hiring an employee to help manage her thriving store.

Welcome to HopeMart, a lifeline for the people of Community 18 in Tema, Ghana! Our store provides essential food and household items, making daily life easier for everyone in the community.
Addressing Urgent Needs
Community 18, part of the vibrant city of Tema, is home to many low-income individuals and families facing the harsh realities of living in a food desert. Access to fresh water, affordable food, and basic necessities like toothbrushes, soap, and washing powder is limited, making it difficult for residents to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This scarcity hits hardest on children, the elderly, and those struggling to make ends meet.
To combat these challenges, HopeMart sells items in smaller, affordable quantities. Whether it’s three diapers out of a pack of fifteen or a cup of sugar, oil, rice, or gari, we make sure that every budget can stretch a little further.
More Than a Grocery Store
HopeMart is more than just a place to buy groceries; it’s a beacon of hope. Our shelves are stocked with a wide range of fresh foods and high-quality products sourced from local farmers and suppliers. When you shop at HopeMart, you’re not only helping yourself and the local community, but you’re also supporting the livelihoods of local businesses and farmers.
How Your Donation Helps

Recently, we faced a heartbreaking setback when the Black Star Line Credit Union in Ghana abruptly closed its doors. Tragically, this closure occurred shortly after we deposited $15,000 of program funds to avoid excessive withdrawal fees from our USA bank. This loss has left our resources severely depleted, threatening the sustainability of our vital programs.
Our Urgent Need
In light of this devastating loss, we humbly appeal for your support and generosity. With a donation of $10,000, we can replenish our Mobile Bank, restock our shop, and provide payroll for two young women in Tema-West for the next 12 months.
How Your Donation Helps
Your contribution will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuity and success of our transformative programs. It will allow us to:
Replenish our Mobile Bank: Ensuring that we can continue to offer financial services to those who need them most.
Restock Our Shop: Providing essential goods and maintaining affordable prices for the community.
Support Payroll: Securing jobs for two young women in Tema-West, giving them the opportunity to thrive and support their families.
Together, We Can Make a Difference
